SMITH <1850 St Ebbs, Oxford St Giles

Notes: I have hit brick wall with my great grandfather Steven SMITH. According to the 1871 census, he was born in Oxford, but in 1881 he said he was born in St. Ebbs. His son William Charles Francis SMITH, my granfather, was born in Falmouth. Stephen was down as a mariner on his son's birth certificate, more than likely how the move to Falmouth happened, In 1861 he is registered with his wife's family as a shoemaker, and gives his father as Richard SMITH, shoemaker, on his marriage certificate.
