LENTHALL | <1700 | North Leigh, Great Haseley, Henley, Burford |
Notes: I am attempting to link my ancestor, the Rev. Robert LENTHALL, Sr., born in Oxfordshire in 1565, to the family of William LENTHALL, b. 1591, who was born at Henley and became the Speaker of the House of Commons. The Speaker was definitely descended from the William LENTHAL who married into the "PIPARD" family and came to live at Great Haseley. He had sons Thomas, John, Rowland and William and an unnamed daughter who married a nephew of John HAMPDEN. I believe Robert was a son of Rowland, who may have been a minister himself.
