One-Name Study: Derrick is conducting a one-name study of the KINGSMAN surname, registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies. (See Derrick's Guild profile for more information about the KINGSMAN study and the Guild.)

See the One-Name Studies in Oxfordshire page for a list of surnames that have strong roots in the County of Oxfordshire and are the subject of a one-name study.

DNA Linking dna Derrick is working on a one-name study that includes the families of KINMAN. One main branch of the Kinman families lived in Cropredy from around 1760 through to the late 1800s. Derrick would be very pleased to hear from any descendant of this line, especially if they would like to take part in the DNA study. So far, he has one Kinman participant who is from a line that we've traced back to Holborn, Middlesex in the late 1500s. This line may or may not be related to that in Oxfordshire; more DNA tests would certainly help to determine if it is. (To learn more about DNA Linking dna, visit the DNA Linking page.)
