CHENNELL 1537-1777 Oxford, Holywell

Notes: The CHENNELL males were either tailors or cordwainers, and some were Freemen of the City of Oxford and in the Censuses were found in Red Lion Square. I have been unable, even with the help of many OFHS members, to trace them back further than William, born 1777. I would like to confirm that William's father was Joseph and mother, Ann. There seems no record of Joseph's birth in the City but the name could be any one of the following variations: CHENEL, CHANEL CHANNEL CHEYNELL etc. William was married to Hannah Anne SELLAR in 1800 - I think.
