Notes: I am trying to trace the ancestors of Charles Fortnum who lived in Oxfordshire during the 1700s. Potentially he is my 5xGGF and I would like to be able to answer the question: Are you related to Fortnum and Mason? I have done some research into William Fortnum, who founded the business during Queen Anne's reign and do not think I am a direct descendant. However, Charles is a common forename in William's family but unusual for Oxfordshire for that time period.

Contact: To contact Angela Fortnum, please send us a message using the Contact form, putting "Message to Angela Fortnum, OXSIL user no. 5794" in the subject line. If you do not include an addressee, we will be unable to forward your message.
