Notes: Benjamin HUMPHRIES otherwise KNIBBS bap. 15 Oct 1820 at Finmere, Oxfordshire son of Henry HUMPHRIES otherwise KNIBBS (1788-1860) and Diana LINES (1793-1833). About 1855 he moved to Willingdon, Sussex (near Eastbourne) with a farmer named Paxton who had taken a farm at Willingdon. He died there 4 Oct 1878. His grandson George Meek wrote the book "George Meek, Bath-Chair-Man, by Himself" published 1910, contains much information about Benjamin, who raised George while his parents went overseas to live. Also, I published a booklet "George Meek's Grandfather" which is available for free download from www.archive.org or my website www.nynne.org
