Notes: James Ealing, born 1855 came to Brisbane in 1874 on the Star Queen. His grandfather Thomas Ealing was a bootmaker in Thame. Thomas and Rachel (Cowen) raised James, who was the illegitimate son of their daughter Sarah. Sarah was in service in London until her death in the early 20th century and worked as a cook and housekeeper. To our knowledge, Sarah's sister Emma was the only member of the family who had children, having married in Thame. Sarah's brother was an agricultural labourer who died without marrying.
